The paternal and maternal ancestors of Charley Mead and the descendants of the families that he relates to as informed by DNA testing and documentation.
The persons that share DNA sequences with one or more of the close family mapped on MyHeritage or GEDmatch can be seen on DNA Painter. The persons that share DNA sequences with one or more of the close family mapped on MyHeritage or GEDmatch can be seen on DNA Painter; the links to the family DNA results are on the 'DNA Test Information' page. You can expand, contract and look at individual matches as you like; the key at the side shows which of the matches are thought to be from the individual ancestral lines. You can also switch from all matches to Paternal or Maternal using the line at the bottom right under the coloured key. Persons with names between #....# are persons with known family links as well as DNA matches. These people will appear with a DNA symbol next to their name in the Person Index on this site.
A number of DNA matches are known among the descendants of Thomas Mead and his wife Ann Peppiatt even though not all hs descendants have been sorted out. These include Mary A Osborn, Jessica Wooding, Jacqueline Parrott, and a daughter and granddaughter of Eileen Jane Johnson.
The Cook and Hamp families are a large component of matches found in Louise and Nicholas' DNA heritage. For example just 1 person, Mavis Cook through a test on several children & grandchildren, the descendant of Joseph Cook and Mary Ann Hamp has some 128 matches at or above 20cM on Ancestry alone. Mavis' grandfather, John Cook, with his wife and 7 children left Plymouth for Australia 26 May 1883 and took up residence in Mackay, Queensland from where the family flourished. One of his descendants, Therese Clifford of Stanthorpe, QLD has an extensive tree on Ancestry of the Queensland families and she sent a note as follows:-
"I have been through looking at my DNA matches on Ancestry and have found descendants from the following children of John and Sarah:
Frederick G Cook 1863-1927 - Cherie Hoelscher, Lorraine Burns (Cook), byetime, Gayle McKindley
Annie Cook 1859-1931 - janmaria, David Wilkinson, Courtney Kerr, Sydney Geeves, Wendy Geeves, K.G., C.G., J.L.
Sidney Cook 1873-1937 - Gary Salisbury, Betty Armstrong (Luscombe), Brenda Pearson (Armstrong), Mia Hodson, Helen Smith, Kathy Hockley (Muirhead), Caleb McGaw, Rod McGaw, Janice Robertson (Ford), Greg Valentine, Tim Valentine.
There is another match that my brother and I have which I have not been able to place on the tree as yet. He was adopted at birth and his mother will not disclose his father’s name. I have my suspicions on the father that it is one of my first cousins as he is quite a strong match.
The names with brackets are maiden names as I have listed them on my tree.
The other surnames with them are as married names as they have listed on their trees.
There are also a few matches through MyHeritage.
Emma Cook 1865-1914 - Robert Dickerson
Sarah Cook 1875-1946 - Glenda Williams
Frederick Cook 1863-1927 - Andrew Laming
Sidney Cook 1873-1937 - Benjamin Muirhead"
I have not followed all these up but a good selection appears in the Hamp Family Tree.
